Murray Swim Meet

Last weekend the boys had a big swim meet in Murray. They both had an incredible meet. Connor posted 9 new best times and is finally back on board after aging up and struggling a little bit. He picked up two new state cuts in the 200 backstroke and the 50 backstroke. He now has 7 state cuts and only needs to pick up one more for a full count at state. He is very close in his 100 IM and 50 Butterfly. He has a meet next weekend so hopeful he will pick it up then. Now if we could just get him to do his reading homework at night without a fight things we be great.

Jake got his first state cut in the 100 backstroke only to find out one of his turns were not legal and his was DQed! He was very upset but we told him he will get it at the next meet. Jake missed his last two events on Saturday to go to one of his best friends birthday parties. He had a blast at the party so that helped out his sadness.

Hope all is well with all of you! Talk again soon.

BYU vs. Utah game

Connor, Jake and Derrek getting ready for the big game.

Connor, Jake, Mark (he is Neal's 45 year old Uncle with Down's and he loves BYU as much as Connor does), and Neal went to the BYU vs. Utah game. Connor and Mark sat together in Marks seats and Neal and Jake sat in our seats. Jake was very sad that the Utes lost.

Connor was ecstatic that BYU won. He and Mark charged the field at the end of the game and got pictures with Brian Kehl and Max Hall. They also got to touch the Mountain West trophy. They were very happy boys when they came home.

Thanksgiving weekend

Thanksgiving weekend was so much fun this year. The kids didn't have school on Wednesday and the boys decided that they would help me get our Christmas decoration out. I love Christmas and I am a bit of an addict when it come to decorating. We put a three trees and pretty much redo the whole house. The boys and Kaylee were a ton of help and we surprised Neal by getting two of the trees up and most of the house decorated while he was at work.

It was our job to bring the pies so Wednesday night and Thursday morning Neal and I made pies. On Thursday afternoon we headed to Sandy to the Loomis's (Neal's Aunt and Uncle's house). We had such a fun relaxing Thanksgiving and the kids were really good. We then came back and the kids all took a swim in grandpa and grandma's pool late that night. Neal's parents pool is outdoor but they heat it through most of the winter and the kids love to swim.

Friday morning I got up at 5:30 and went to my favorite store, Rod Works. It was my first early morning black Friday shopping experience and it was fun. I didn't hit any crazy crowds but did get some great deals. I am about 3/4 of the way done with my shopping. YEAH!!!!
Grandma Jill came down on Friday and spent the day. We did a bit more shopping and then went to dinner for my sister-in-law's birthdy at Magleby's in Provo. It was such a crazy dinner (but a lot of fun). They brought all the food out after a very long wait to everyone but my sister-in-law Brenda whose birthday we were celebrating. She had to wait another 15 minutes after we all got our food for hers. My fish ended up being way undercooked so they had to take it back and I waited with her. They did give us a free desert for our wait and my Chocolate cake was to die for. So, I guess it was okay and we did all have a great laugh.

Saturday was game day and I think in our family it deserves it's very own blog space.

The Boys room

As you maybe able to tell from the boys Halloween pictures that Connor is a huge BYU fan and Jake is a big Utah fan. For their birthday we have been decorating their room. Above are the pictures of the room. The Utah emblem still needs the white put in it.

Neal has done an amazing job painting. I can't believe the detail that he is able to do. And the boys are very proud of their room.

who are we?

I thought that I would tell you a little bit about our family.

Neal works for Nestle Food in Human resources. He is also an amazing artist, has a great sense of humor, and love to collect action figures and comic books. Neal also has a passion for anything and everything Disney. He especially loves the DisneyLand.

Connor loves everything BYU. He hopes to either swim or play football for them someday. He is a great athlete. He swims for the UVRAY's is currently one of the best freestyle swimmers his age in the state. He loves football as well. He's team went the super bowl and lost for the second straight year. He was pretty uspet about that. He is very social and always has friends around.
And earned his Arrow of light in cub scouting this past fall.

Jake love everything University of Utah. He is a great student and also loves sports. He started swimming for the UVRAY's this past spring and is very close to getting his state cuts. He is also in Karate and working toward being a black belt someday. He also plays football, basketball, baseball and swimming. Jake works very hard in school and is very diligent about doing well in everything he pursues.

Kaylee is our fun loving artist. She draws on everything. No matter how mad mom gets. She also loves dance and gymnastics. In kindergarten she has been learning to read and has really taken to it. She is always trying to get mom to read with her. She is looking forward to Christmas and asks everyday if she is on Santa's good list. Her hope is that Santa will bring her lots of pet shops, American girls stuff, and Barbies.

Nathan loves to go any where and every where and spends his time bringing keys and shoes to dad and mom. He loves to laugh and is simply a joy for our family. He loves his grandpa Clair and taking bus rides and plane rides with him.

Halloween 2007

Halloween was a lot of fun this year. Connor and Jake played up their rivalry by dressing up as Utah and BYU fans. Kaylee was a cheerleader and Nathan dressed-up as Winnie the Pooh. The weather was great and with the change of daylight savings time it turned out to be the perfect Halloween. With plenty of treats to go around!!!
